Another important feature of Fusion is that it incorporates the translation of CAD data from a variety of sources. It is capable of supporting dozens of different file types, including .OBJ, .DXF, .DWG, .SLDPRT, etc., with the ability to automatically display the data in Fusion’s CAD environment.
With generative design, there is never just one solution; the “part” can thus be profitably analysed under different conditions, simulating alternative materials, various loads and constraints, and performing thermal or mechanical stresses.
Fusion carefully operates data management and version control. Fusion is Autodesk’s software for creating 3D designs in a single platform that integrates CAD, CAM, CAE and PCB. It is therefore a complete tool for 3D modelling. Here’s what you can do with Fusion:
Autodesk Fusion is used by industrial designers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, machinists, start-ups.
Autodesk Fusion for personal use is a free, limited version reserved for non-commercial amateur users and suitable start-ups.
The free version of Fusion for professionals, on the other hand, can be used for a maximum of 30 days.
Autodesk Fusion is not the same as AutoCAD. Fusion is an integrated CAD, CAM, CAE and PCB software, while AutoCAD is a CAD software for creating 2D and 3D drawings.
Autodesk reserves free educational access to all products and services for students and lecturers for one year. Access may be renewed if users maintain the eligibility requirements.
